Scott Stearns and his wife, Elsie, settled on Useppa Island to work and helped bring the community to life through their dedication and hard work.
1980s/1990s

After serving in WW11 Bob Stearns, Earnest's son, returned to Daytona to build on the family legacy by founding Stearns Tile and Carpet, going on to be in business for over 50 years.
The family business transforms into Stearns Custom Builders, Inc., founded by Scott and his children, Derrick and Darsey — the family behind the name — becoming the premier custom builder on Pine Island and the surrounding areas, known for exceptional craftsmanship and personalized service.
