Most notable from our point of view was the concern and their extreme willingness to please my wife and I in delivering what we had been looking to accomplish in the home. The final product speaks for itself when viewing the home delivered to us a bit over a year ago. Their attention to detail was managed by the Stearns team literally on an hour-to-hour, day-to-day basis, never taking their eye off the ball, which speaks volumes in today’s world of rushing things without the attention required to detail. From the start of each part of the project, this oversight allowed my wife and I to be a part of the process and to adapt as the project progressed. As Derrick Stearns, President of SCB, mentioned from the get-go, seeing something on paper vs. actually seeing it built at times are two different things. The flexibility allowed to us by the Stearns team to adapt on the fly made for an incredible, fun-filled experience. We literally could not wait to visit the house during construction to see its progression and the craftsmanship being applied in delivering to us all those little details that made for a cozy, beautiful house that met the feel, look, and layout we craved to build. This could not have happened without the willingness of SCB to research each item and then marry our desires with just the right craftsman to “bring it to life.” Time consuming for the SCB team, but a beautiful, well-thought-out house was delivered to us!

I’ve enjoyed my Stearns Custom Builders home on Pine Island for the last 5 years. After a great building experience and excellent post move-in service, I’ve known that selecting Stearns Custom Builders was the right decision. Until Hurricane Ian hit Pine Island last year, I didn’t realize just how important that decision really was. Incredibly, my home was not damaged and I credit that to how well the house was built. As quickly as possible after the storm, the SCB team contacted me to discuss an initial damage assessment and to formulate a plan for repair services. Stearns Custom Builders built my beautiful home in 2015. Derrick was there every step of the way, building stronger than even the Hurricane codes mandated. When Irma hit, we stayed with no damage. Then in 2022 Ian surprised us all with a direct landfall. I was so confident in this house that I moved in two at risk seniors from Matlacha in to weather the storm. They lost everything but their lives, and the only damage a direct hit from a cat 5 hurricane, for hours, did was to the pool cage. After the storm we have been in constant contact with Stearns getting the minor exterior cosmetic repairs done through them. I can’t explain how safe we feel in our home… and it’s beautiful!
